Dakkada people, Akwa Ibom is the place to be!

So, unclebae and I took a vacation recently, and we went to Akwa Ibom!!

The place is beautiful, the development amazing. From the comfortable hotels to the many attractions, Akwa Ibom is a work of art.

I am particularly impressed that a state government invested so much in a state, especially the capital Uyo. From the hotels, to the library, art gallery, Ibom plaza, beaches and amazing stadium, there’s just so much to see.

If you are a luxury lover, just visit Le meridian Ibom, it is five star treatment all the way. And if you are travelling on a budget, there are lots of affordable hotels in the heart of town and lots of things to do that wouldn’t cost too much. You don’t even need to rent a car, just hire a ‘keke’ and have a blast touring the land.

Oh, make sure you stop by Ibom Tropicana, there’s a SIlverbird cinema there with box office movies as cheap as #500.

The trip got me thinking, there’s really no reason to spend so much travelling abroad for vacations when there’s so much to see in Naija. Oya na, book that flight to Akwa Ibom, tour Naija to save the Naira.

What? Did I just make common sense? *runs off to hide*.

You know how politicians and politically aware people eagerly await a new government’s 100 days in office? Publications highlighting the government’s achievements in the time frame, bearing assurances and fresh promises to silence wailing wailers flood the media. 100 days in office is usually a big deal. YOU SABI WHO IM BE BEFORE???

Call me weird but I enjoy bus rides. Yes, I do not mean comfortable air conditioned buses that belong to my father, brother, company or whoever you imagine I would know who might have a bus. I mean Danfo buses! Ok, I am certain I would like it more if the seats weren’t as many and it didn’t carry so many people at the same time. It would get even better if the windows actually work and the doors don’t fall off in motion. Yes, it would be really great if we didn’t have to almost lap each other all through the ride and the half naked conductor did not have to hang on the bus just next to you with your nose just around his hair ridden abdomen. Can people just stop sleeping in buses? I mean even if you have to sleep, can you do it with some finesse, I don’t even know your name so why should I want your head on my shoulder or the souvenir of your spittle on my shirt?
